Songs of the Past is CD Projekt Red and Fool’s Theory’s upcoming 2027 paid expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It is a single-player story that starts after Blood and Wine. Geralt is living in Toussaint when Dandelion pulls him north to Letten, the bard’s homeland in northern Redania, close to Kovir and Poviss — the same stretch of the Continent that The Witcher 4 will treat as Ciri’s hunting ground. This hub is the character map for that trip. It does not recap every quest. It tells you who matters, what gamescom 2026 actually showed, and which pages to open next.

The witcher you already know is still the lead. Geralt of Rivia leaves the vineyard because a friend asks, not because a new Wild Hunt is riding. Previews of the early quest A Bed of Thorns put him hungover after Belleteyn, hunting a missing lute, then walking into the de Lettenhove estate with more questions than answers. Combat still uses steel, silver, Signs, oils, and bombs, plus a silver chain that occupies a quick-use slot. Key art also shows a third sword. Developers have said that blade is story-important and that you will learn why in-game, so this wiki will not pretend the scabbard is already solved.

The reason the expansion exists is Dandelion. His real name is Julian Alfred Pankratz, Viscount de Lettenhove, a fact the gamescom showcase leaned on while walking players through his childhood home. Letten looks idyllic — rural, prosperous, and largely spared by the Nilfgaardian wars — until the Garden of Thorns and an old family curse make the valley feel like a trap. Dandelion is missing when Geralt wakes. The lute turns up in the wrong hands. The house still holds a grandmother who runs the family, a serious brother named Gustav, and memories of ancestor Count Humbert, whose doomed love story is tied to the thorns.

Lilla is Dandelion’s cousin and Geralt’s companion through the Garden footage. She is an optional romance. In the gamescom demo the developers played Geralt as loyal to Yennefer and shut the advance down. Triss Merigold was not seen in that demo. Whether Yennefer or Triss appear in the flesh inside the finished expansion is unconfirmed. Do not rebuild a save around a cameo that has not been promised.
