Songs of the Past Lilla Romance Guide

Lilla is Dandelion’s cousin, Geralt’s companion through the Garden of Thorns footage, and the only new romance option CD Projekt Red has confirmed for Songs of the Past. The expansion is still a 2027 paid chapter, single-player, co-developed with Fool’s Theory, and this page is a preview guide — not a live-game flag list. If you are rebuilding a Toussaint save before the Remastered upgrade, read this for what the demo actually showed, then stop before you invent quest names that have not been listed.

She is not a tavern singer dropped into the story for a one-night dialogue wheel. The first meeting is domestic: Geralt arrives with a lute and a hangover, and Lilla is already inside the house that still expects Dandelion to walk through the door. Previews put her at the de Lettenhove estate with the grandmother and with Gustav, then later at the stables after sundown, then on horseback into a forest that stops pretending to be pastoral. She knows the family legend well enough to narrate Count Humbert’s doomed love, the villagers who harmed a witch, the bodies in the well, and the garden that grew thirsty. Dandelion is the missing viscount. Lilla is the relative who still lives in the valley and is willing to ride into the part of it people avoid.

The romance is optional. That word is doing real work. Songs of the Past does not require you to court her to finish A Bed of Thorns or to enter the Garden. In the gamescom demo the developers played Geralt as loyal to Yennefer. When Lilla’s scene leaned affectionate, the line was effectively “team Yen”: the witcher downplayed the moment instead of taking her hand. Other coverage of the same hands-off session noted a later choice, after the Slumbering Knight falls, to take Lilla’s hand or to embrace her. Those are presentation beats, not a published flowchart. Until 2027 you should assume there is a friendship path, a romance path, and a loyalty-to-Yennefer path, and you should not assume we have seen every gate.

What is unconfirmed matters as much as what is confirmed. Triss Merigold was not seen in the demo. Whether Yennefer or Triss appear in person in the finished DLC is unconfirmed. A spoken loyalty to Yen is not the same thing as Yen walking into Letten. A missing Triss in fifty minutes of footage is not the same thing as a developer saying she was cut. Do not plan a three-way based on absence. Do not plan a Toussaint reunion based on a single demo line. If your current ending already binds Geralt to a sorceress, you can keep that reading. If you want a Letten romance, wait for the live dialogue options.

Companion design is clearer than romance design. Lilla talks. She rides. She touches the thing Geralt would rather silver-test first, which is how the Slumbering Knight stands up in the Garden footage. She is the local guide the way a Toussaint duchess is not: she belongs to the house whose blood the thorns want. That makes her useful on a story overview pass and dangerous as a quest-giver you ignore. Treat every affection prompt in the preview as a proof of system, not a spoiler of your ending. Lilla will still be Dandelion’s cousin when the expansion launches. Whether Geralt kisses her is the one choice Letten is not going to make for you.
